Uber for kids and pre-teens. Driven by local moms.

VanGo provides parents a way to schedule rides for their kids using local, trusted moms. Drivers go through a rigorous vetting process which includes being fingerprinted, vehicle inspection, childcare experience, an in-person interview, and a background & driving record check. Parents can hail rides using the mobile app and use their GPS-tracking to ensure their children arrive safely. You can even schedule recurring pick-ups to save the hassle of scheduling rides every time.

I think the most important focal point of this app (and rightly so) is the transparency behind the actual ride. If VanGo wants people to use their app, they have a huge hurdle of getting parents to trust that VanGo drivers will safely transport their kids. With the “local moms” aspect put into place, their hurdle will be easier to overcome.

I also love the ability to schedule recurring rides. This is something that would be hard for other rideshares like Uber or Lyft to take advantage of, but a fantastic idea nonetheless.

Overall, I’m interested to see how VanGo expands the rideshare business. Based on current reviews, they’re off to a good start.
